We believe that outdoor recreation is important for improving quality of life and offers numerous individual and societal benefits. For most people living-in or visiting the Adirondack region, recreation often involves outdoor activities based in natural wilderness settings. But for people living with disabilities, or individuals with special needs, opportunities for experiencing true solitude and remoteness in a wild area are often limited, difficult to access, or available only in a very segregated way. We believe that no one should be discouraged from experiencing the view from atop a rugged mountain, listening to the cry of a loon on a secluded lake, or the thrill of whitewater rafting down a remote river, simply because of their physical or mental ability.
With the help of our supporters, the Adirondack wilderness will soon be everyone's playground.
